D23 Expo

We recently attended the D23 Expo on Friday, August 9th 2013. We never attended the first 2 shows that was held previously and didn't know what to expect. We were only able to attend on Friday of the show. The show was filled with everything associated with Disney from Pixar to Marvel. There were exclusives and special events held throughout the 3-day show. This year they held a D23 Marathon where the finish line was at the front of the Anaheim Convention Center.

While waiting in line at the Will Call booth, behind us was the Phineas & Ferb Waffle-inator but first it was showing Phineas & Ferb cartoons to those waiting in line or in the area.

The lines were not too bad compared to SDCC. People were complaining about the lines this year compared to previous years. To us, this was nothing compared to SDCC. The only line that was really long was the Disney Store (2 hour wait), Mattel (they only had one cashier) and the Dream Store (line to get in and line to check out).

There was the Collector's Pavilion (area) where you can buy Disney goods such as pins, toys etc... and there was even a trade section where collectors could trade with each other. There were a good amount of free stuff given out such as Gravity Falls Masks/Fans, Bag, Monsters University ID, Marvel Avengers Sticker, Pirate Fairy Foam Sword etc...

Some exclusives that we purchased was Mattel's Toy Story Small Fry Buzz Lightyear figure exclusive & Disney Store's Funko 9" GITD POP! Buzz Lightyear with small Zurg & Steamboat Willie Redux. We picked up the Disney/Pixar Mini POP! 4-pack later on from a friend. We also picked up a non-exclusive Nightmare Before Christmas Jack & Sally Mini POP! 2-Pack from a Funko retailer that was exhibiting at D23.

This year they added a costume contest and we saw lots of people dressed up as their favorite Princesses. We had a great time and wish were able to stay throughout the show. There were lots of good panels & a movie screening of Planes. We'll be back in full force for D23 Expo 2015.
